Finally Dubai got back on its artsy shape once with the Fall season. Last month i had the joy to attend the Galleries Night at Alserkal Avenue (previous post) and just this week the 2014 second edition of Art night @DIFC happened. Loved both events ,however the Opera Gallery @DIFC was the peak of the season, as a personal opinion. As you will see in today’s post, most of the photos were taken at the Opera Gallery which had an edgy – pop, contemporary feel. Oh, and i simply got in love with the fabulous, history filled, large scale sculpture by Diana Al Hadid. More than that, The Liberation of Art had a pretty straight and clear message, which definitely got stuck in my head.

Galleries Night Alserkal Avenue

The plastic-recycled city

This weekend i visited the Art Dubai galleries at Madinat Jumeirah. I was impressed with the “Extremes Maquettes” by Bodys Isek Kingelez which is now part of Cartier Foundation pour l’art contemporain. 

Back in 1995, the artist used recycled material to build this urban and colorful city of Congo. His works carries a social message, compensating for what reality and society have failed to give the city.

Dubai Art Nights @DIFC

Artsy Dubai! A week full of art, events, music, great vibe, beautiful people and of course, artists. This is the best time to go out and explore every corner of Dubai Art week.

Yesterday was the opening of the galleries in DIFC at the Gate Village. Cool event! Nice crowd.

More events to come so hurry and explore the expositions at Madinat Jumeirah, Artdays at Emaar Boulevard and not to forget about the Sikka event at Bastakiya.

Urban Art Fest- STREETCON

Had such an amazing afternoon at the Streetcon! Such a colorful exposition with lovely faces around and friendly people (especially TheBrownMonkeys). Have a look at the pics and hurry up tomorrow to Al Ghurair Center in Deira. Many cool arts not to be missed! Enjoy the urban art!
