Merry Christmas everyone! May your day be all wrapped up with cheer, joy and happiness!
Although this year i am far away from home and family, I am blessed to have around me beautiful friends. We had quite a celebration on Christmas Eve and will let you enjoy a bit of our night in pictures.
Here are the pictures from my day 2 & 3 around Romania 🙂
After spending a night in beautiful Sighisoara, we were back on the road. First stop was at beautiful Alba Iulia Citadel following the journey of the seven gates. Loved the obelisk of Horea, Closca and Crisan. Further on the road, we had a quick stop at Deva Citadel however the skyline from the top of the hill was not that great as it was intensively raining. Finally, we arrived in Hunedoara, our stop for the night. Third day morning after breakfast we stopped at Corvin Castle. This was one of my favorite places during the trip. Build in a Gothic – Renaissance style, this is one of the largest castles of Romania and Europe. After walking the cold rooms and chambers of Corvin Castel, we continued our journey which the destination Timisoara. Sun was already up and we got to Timisoara during the evening time. Here we spent the night just a walk from the charming Opera Square.
Hope you enjoy the pictures and there is more to come soon!
2 weeks ago I went on a short trip around my beautiful country, Romania. It was a 5 days trip and I can honestly say that was one of the most green, cultural, relaxing and happiest gateways I had so far this year. Exploring my own country is something I always miss since I become an expat but it is definitely on my list every time I go back home. So here it is, day 1 itinerary of my trip.
From Pitesti, Arges county (my hometown) we went on the direction of Sighisoara but first stopped at Fundata to enjoy the beautiful landscape composed of Piatra Craiului Mountains and Bucegi Mountains. Breathtaking view. Second stop was Cetatea Rasnov (Rasnov Citadel). This citadel was build back in 1200 as a defence from outside invasions. As it was a very hot day we decided not to walk up to the citadel and took the touristic bus instead. Pretty lazy, i know! Third stop was Brasov where i had a nice lunch and a walk around Piata Sfatului. Must admit that I am fascinated every time I see the gothic style Black Church of Brasov. Further, on the way to Sighisoara the rain started but luckily it stopped once we arrived to the guesthouse of the night. Sighisoara was love at first sight and I can’t wait to be back!
I have taken too many pictures to collect them all in one post so today I will let you enjoy a bit of Transylvania : Rasnov Citadel, Brasov city and Medieval Sighisoara. More posts will follow about the remaining days of my trip so stay tuned if you are curious to see a green and full of history Romania.
It was three years ago, during a hot and humid morning of August, when Francesca was waiting for me to land at Dubai International Airport. We were meeting for the first time, and with that day a beautiful friendship started. This 23rd of August, I had the pleasure to be part of her wedding with Yusuf, dinner which was hosted at the place they’ve met, The JW Marriott Marquis. The buffet dinner at Kitchen 6 was delicious. I absolutely loved the desserts and of course the cheese section was my heaven.
Fran and Yusuf, I wish I can describe in words the warm feelings you always pass to me when I am around you two. You are an amazing support for each other and I feel truly blessed to have you as my friends 🙂 I wish you both a great marriage and as we say in Romanian “Casa de piatra!”
Such a long time! But hey! Here are some of my favs photos from my short trip to Amsterdam 🙂 Had an amaaaazing time walking around this beautiful city in both 10 and 30 degrees. Didn’t expect such a cold weather for June but it compensated with a sunny end. Hope to be back soon as i got in love with you Amsterdam.
